The Democratic Alliance extends condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Advocate Modibedi Eric Phindela, the Secretary to the National Council of Provinces following his untimely passing.
Advocate Phindela served the NCOP with conviction and fortitude since his appointment on 1 June 2010, before which he was the Acting Secretary to the Council since March 2009.
In a lifetime of service to South Africa Adv. Phindela also served as researcher at the Constitutional Court, as a commissioner of the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration, as senior legal advisor to the Mpumalanga Legislature, executive manager of Parliamentary proceedings, in the Pan African Parliament as deputy clerk and in the NCOP as Under-Secretary.
